A year where content was king
It’s time to shut up shop for another year and what a year we’ve had; radio commercials, podcasts, photos, animation, videos for websites and DVDs, and of course live streaming.
We’ve worked with some great clients filming from Auckland to Dunedin and lots of places in between. At Tandem we love what we do and we love making stuff. In a nutshell that’s what we do, make a lot of stuff for today’s huge variety of media. It’s a media world that keeps on changing and that’s the fun part as we constantly learn new ways to communicate and market.
One of the joys this year was working with New Zealand’s newest boy band The C-City Brothers, made up of Canterbury Crusaders players Andy Ellis, Israel Dagg, Willi Heinz, Telusa Veainu and Robbie Fruean. Mid-way through the year we hit number one on iTunes with “Never Walk Away”. This song and video was produced by Tandem as a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis. We recently teamed up with the boys again, just in time for Christmas, to produce the new video and single “New Zealand’s Wonderland”. The video for the single was filmed by Tandem Studios in Christchurch department store Ballantynes. Along with the C-City Brothers we recruited the professional skills of accomplished musician and composer Nanako Sato, along with choristers from the Christchurch Boys’ Choir and Otautahi Jazz Band. The song is featured on the CD ‘Starship Christmas Album’ and that CD went to number one on the New Zealand Top 40. As C-City Brothers member Isreal Dagg said, “There are a lot of kids out there that are really doing it tough so every little thing that we can do will hopefully put a smile on their faces.” It was a nice to finish a great year. Who knows what’s in store for us in 2014. One thing I do know is that here at Tandem we will take it all in our stride and have a good time doing it. Merry Christmas everyone. We wish you nothing but joy and happiness in the New Year.
